Woof, woof! My name is Kopper, and I’m a happy-go-lucky dog who loves to go on adventures with my crazy parents. We’re planning a road trip to explore the towns west of Baton Rouge, and I’m excited to tell you all about it from my perspective.
First things first, my parents and I have been cooped up in the house for way too long, and we’re ready for a change of scenery. That’s why we decided to hit the road and explore the Cajun heartland of Louisiana. I’ve heard that the towns west of Baton Rouge are filled with delicious food, live music, and historic buildings, and I can’t wait to check them out.
We’ve done our research, and we’ve found some great dog-friendly places to visit along the way. I’m especially excited to visit Breaux Bridge, the Crawfish Capital of the World. I’ve never tasted crawfish before, but my parents tell me it’s a Cajun delicacy that I can’t miss.
We’ll also be stopping in St. Martinville, a charming town with a lot of history. I hope we’ll have time to visit the Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site, and maybe I’ll learn a thing or two about Louisiana’s famous writer, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
In Henderson, we’ll get to explore the Atchafalaya Basin, which is the largest swamp in the United States. I’m a little nervous about the alligators, but my parents say they’ll keep me safe. Plus, I hope to get to go kayaking, which is one of my favorite activities.

Last but not least, we’ll visit Scott, where they have a Boudin Festival. I’m not exactly sure what boudin is, but my parents say it’s a sausage that’s famous in Louisiana. I’m looking forward to trying it out and dancing to some live Cajun music.
All in all, I can’t wait for this road trip. I know my parents can be a little crazy sometimes, but they love me, and I love them. We’re going to have a great time exploring the Cajun heartland of Louisiana together. Woof, woof!
